Archor expands: Cambridge office and new director

Firm News

Archor lands in Cambridge, and strengthens with experienced construction specialist Simon Franklin joining.

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our Cambridge office. Since Archor was founded just over three years ago we’ve grown from seven people to twenty five, with the new office reflecting our greater size and strength in depth and bringing us closer to our many Cambridge-based clients.

Joining us in Cambridge at launch is a new Legal Director, Simon Franklin. Simon has 20+ years experience as a construction specialist, and his arrival significantly strengthens our development and non-contentious offerings. He is familiar with the Cambridge market having led the construction offering of a full service law firm in the city, following a similar role at a regional firm in Manchester and earlier experience in London.

Partners Oli Worth and Rory Abel will be primarily based in the Cambridge office, which is in the heart of the city’s professional district on Station Road. Alongside  them will be Simon and Shahbaz Mohammed, an Associate focussing on development and other non-contentious work.

Commenting on the launch of the Cambridge office, Oli said: “It’s a genuine delight – and not just because it significantly saves on my commute! – to have a permanent office in Cambridge. The property and construction market in Cambridge remains strong, and having a physical presence will help us deliver for our clients – in the week or so we’ve been at our desks we’ve already noticed the benefits that come with being in the middle of this vibrant market”.

Rory added: “We’re really pleased to welcome Simon to Archor. He has a wealth of experience in development work and will be a great addition to the team. I’m looking forward to introducing him to our existing clients, and strengthening our existing links in Cambridge”.

We will be hosting a party to celebrate this latest Archor milestone in November – look out for news in the next few weeks.
