Archor appointed to Government Commercial Agency Panel

Firm News

We are delighted to confirm that we have been named on Government Commercial Agency’s (GCA’s) Framework Contract RM6374 Legal Panel for Public Sector, where we have been named as a supplier in relation to construction legal advice on Lot 2 Focused Legal Support.

GCA is the UK’s central commercial and procurement organisation, connecting public and private sectors to achieve the best outcomes for the UK and its citizens. GCA uses its commercial expertise to create a simpler procurement experience that redirects valuable resources into essential public services – creating value for the nation.

Our position as a GCA supplier recognises our expertise as one of the UK’s leading construction law firms, and allows public sector clients to directly appoint us on non-contentious and disputes matters. We already have a wealth of public sector experience and a dedicated public sector team – being a GCA supplier makes the appointment process for clients that bit easier.

Hanna McNab, partner and head of our Public Sector team, commented: “We’re delighted to join the GCA panel. We already have some fantastic public sector clients and contacts, and we’re excited that this new role means it will be easier for them to instruct us – as well as exposing us to many more potential clients who can make use of Archor’s leading advice”.

Our qualification for the GCA is under Lot 2 for construction law, which is defined as “All aspects of construction law including but not limited to advice and support in relation to standard industry construction contracts (e.g. NEC, JCT, others), construction and infrastructure projects, contentious and non-contentious construction matters and construction litigation and disputes”. As existing clients will know, that could hardly fit what we do at Archor every day better – in fact, we don’t do anything else. Being on the GCA panel means we can bring those specialist services to public sector and shared legal services teams that might not have the expertise in house.

Our public sector team is made up of Hanna McNab, Rory Abel and Andrew Rush (all partners), together with Legal Director’s Katrina Bretten and Sarah Lester, and Senior Associates Hayley Morgan-Jack and Lucy Day. Supported by the wider Archor team as needed, the public sector team is a dedicated group who have particular experience of working with public sector clients, including local authorities, housing associations, and third sector organisations.
