I am a highly experienced construction lawyer, having worked in the construction industry as a chartered civil engineer and solicitor for over thirty years.
After re-qualifying as a solicitor I had the pleasure of working in the City of London for one of the largest international law firms, as well as a multi-national law firm. I then spent fifteen years developing one of the largest construction teams outside of London, before joining with the best construction lawyers I know to set up Archor.
My years of experience extend to all aspects of construction law, advising on development projects as well as the resolution of disputes. I have experience of all the main forms of construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, ICC and IChemE, as well advising on bespoke forms of construction and energy contracts.
I work with clients on a whole range of construction disputes. My contentious expertise covers all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, mediation and with a primary focus on adjudication. I have been involved with some of the leading case law on the enforcement of adjudication decisions.
I have been fortunate to be recognised by Legal 500, which placed me in its ‘Hall of Fame’ and noted that I am a “stand-out partner, having a no-nonsense approach and [am] very well liked”. I have also been ranked in band 1 by Chambers, which describes me as “very capable” and “very easy to work with”. Despite all that praise, those that know me best simply describe me as a very dull man.
