I am a construction solicitor who helps construction clients – including employers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants – avoid and resolve disputes on their projects.
I enjoy helping clients to avoid disputes in fast-paced and dynamic situations with a view to achieving a commercial outcome and preserving project relationships. I also have a particular interest in adjudication, which provides many construction clients with a forum to resolve disputes swiftly and relatively cost-effectively.
I also have some non-contentious experience, including giving ad-hoc project advice and drafting and reviewing contracts and ancillary documents such as letters of intent and collateral warranties.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor I spent fifteen years working as a quantity surveyor and estimator in the construction industry. My industry experience means that I can quickly understand the technical issues and commercial drivers underlying disputes and give practical and commercial advice to clients. According to one of the partners at Archor, I am one of the few construction lawyers who knows what a pile is!
In December 2020 I was awarded an MSc Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London.
