I am a solicitor with experience primarily in contentious construction matters. I started my construction law career as a paralegal in 2019 at a regional law firm prior to becoming Archor’s first trainee. Prior to my years in construction law, I completed my bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Nottingham.
My work primarily involves acting for a range of clients in adjudication and court proceedings. My adjudication experience predominantly relates to interim and final accounts, defective works, extensions of time and loss and expense. I also act for clients through to the enforcement of adjudication decisions in the court.
I have experience working on a wide range of construction claims, including disputes over defects, professional negligence and claims against insurers. In addition to the pure construction claims, I also work on a number of insolvency matters including issuing and defending winding up petitions and injunctive relief.
In addition to dispute resolution, I have experience in a range of non-contentious matters including negotiating and drafting appointments, collateral warranties and even contract reviews based on standard forms, such as the JCT suite. In my previous role I worked alongside lawyers from other teams to help deliver the appropriate documentation for various transactions.
