I am a senior associate with experience in the construction and public sectors. I started my career in London working in special advisory services for the construction industry. It was here that I developed a real interest in specialist contract forms such as JCT and NEC (including bespoke amendments), as well as a love for contentious matters such as adjudications.
I later moved into local government to complete my training contract. In this role, I was able to apply knowledge and skills acquired to advise public sector clients on disputes when they arose and acknowledge key risks in construction projects. I joined Archor in January 2022 following qualification, as an opportunity to develop my knowledge and expertise as a specialist construction lawyer.
To date I have experience in both non-contentious and contentious work within the construction sector. Currently, my work is focused on non-contentious matters for a range of clients including developers, consultants and contractors. However, I am equally able to get stuck into work on construction disputes where I assist the partners in larger matters alongside my own cases.
I have a particular interest, given my previous roles, in construction projects involving the public sector. This interest includes training public sector bodies on the intricacies of the world of construction law, to help build better understanding and confidence when working on construction matters. I am also interested in alternative dispute resolution: I have a Master’s degree in the subject, and I’m a Qualified Mediator with the Society of Mediators.
