I am a construction solicitor with a primary focus on non-contentious construction matters. I act for a range of developers, funders, housebuilders, landlords, tenants, institutional investors, consultants, contractors and sub-contractors, and although I am more than comfortable handling matters within any sector I have a particular specialism in the healthcare, residential (including PRS and Student Accommodation), industrial and leisure sectors.
As a construction specialist, I am used to working alongside lawyers from other firms to deliver the necessary documentation for a transaction. I also have great relationships with many other industry consultants and am therefore able to slot into professional teams to advise on projects from conception through to delivery, a role which I really enjoy.
I stand out from the crowd by delivering legal advice in a way that is responsive and personable. Chambers ranks me as a Band 2 lawyer and notes that I am “sought out by clients involved in developments in the healthcare, residential and commercial real estate sectors”, as well as quoting a client who says I am “a really talented lawyer who responds lightning-quick and has a real knack for tailoring his approach accordingly”. I have also been recommended and named as a ‘Rising Star’ by Legal 500, which has recognised me for being “very responsive and easy to deal with” as well as “not afraid to take difficult decisions and have difficult conversations”.
As flattering and pleasing as those testimonials are, one client recently remarked that I’m one of the only lawyers he’s been keen to have beers with – praise indeed. When I’m not propping up the bar in an attempt to win work, I have been known to cycle the length of the UK and to take part in Ironman events (although I’ve yet to try combining the two activities!).
