Archor: once again certified leading construction lawyers

We’re delighted to once again be recognised as leading construction lawyers by both legal directories, The Legal 500 and Chambers, in their 2026 guides that have now both been published.

In its 2026 edition, Legal 500 again rank Archor as a Tier 1 firm. It notes that “The firm has a large team of development specialists, handling high-value greenfield projects and residential refurbishments in sectors such as the healthcare, infrastructure, and hospitality industries“, as well commending our disputes experience where it notes our handling of “complex adjudications” and management of “a high volume of court proceedings, ranging from small County Court claims to multimillion-pound High Court claims“.

On the individual front, Legal 500 notes Senior Partner Andrew Rush, Managing Partner Ruth Kavanagh, and Head of Development Rory Abel as “leaders in their field“, while “Oli Worth and Carolyn Porter stand out for work on complex disputes“. Andrew retains his ‘Hall of Fame’ status, Ruth and Oli are leading partners (“The strongest partners in their field, leading on market-leading deals and endorsed by peers and clients alike“), and recent-joiner Katrina Bretten is a leading associate noted as ‘one to watch’. No other construction team in the region has as many leading individuals ranked.

Meanwhile, Chambers also puts Archor in its Band 1 and like Legal 500 individually ranks Andrew, Ruth, Oli and Katrina – “fantastic” who “always provides helpful, prompt, and pragmatic advice” – as well as Rory – “an excellent lawyer” who is “sought out by clients involved in developments in the healthcare, residential and commercial real estate sectors“. Again, that’s more individuals ranked than any other firm; in fact, Archor makes up a third of all the ranked lawyers in the area.

Both directories base their rankings on a detailed review of the market and interviews with clients and contacts. As we’ve said before, without great feedback from our clients – and great work from them in the first place – we wouldn’t be where we are, nor would we be without the great team we have at Archor.
